3-30-26   THOUGHTS

The “CORNERSTONE”  metaphor is one of the most powerful used by God to show us the position of Christ in His design.    Isa 28:16  Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone [for] the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes [in it] will not be disturbed.”  The importance of the cornerstone in the building process is well documented.  Verse 6 makes Jesus the cornerstone, to be believed!
The culmination of this building process of God’s is given in verse 9!  Read it thoughtfully.
We are called to proclaim the “excellencies of Christ!”

1Pet 2:6-9    For it stands in Scripture: "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a cornerstone chosen and precious, and whoever believes in him will not be put to shame."  7  So the honor is for you who believe, but for those who do not believe, "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone,"    and "A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense." They stumble  because they disobey the word,  as they were destined to do.  9  But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation,  a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.

Our Prayer:
As believers in Christ, mold us into the picture we read about here.  We have been moved from darkness to light, may we be light!  As Your purchased possession, may we boldly proclaim the excellencies of our Lord.  Thank You, O God, for these great words of power.  Keep us from stumbling!   In the name of our Lord and Cornerstone,   Amen.
